Placing a skip on the highway
When placing a skip on a public highway you will require a skip licence. We can request the licence if the location of the skip falls under Barnet, Brent, Harrow or Hounslow Council.
20yard and 40yard Roll on/ Roll off containers can not be licenced to be placed on the public highways, there for it is essential to have a suitable off road location.
If a skip licence request is declined by the council, we provide a wait and load service which involves a driver waiting while the skip is loaded. We also provide a grab service which is ideal if you have a lot of waste to dispose of.
Barnet Council have strict guidelines to hiring a skip. All skips MUST be placed on the public highway unless a temporary cross over licence is in place. Barnet Council are responsible for issuing a temporary cross over licence and you can obtain this by calling 0208 359 3000. You can find out more about this at www.barnet.gov.uk.
